- The format in 2025 in short:
- There will be three seasons: winter, spring and summer.
- All matches played will have multiple games, so that comebacks are possible even after losing a game.
- Playoffs will make use of a ‘Gauntlet’ system, where higher placement in the group stage is rewarded by having to play less matches.
- There will be a promotion mini-tournament after Spring and Summer for a team to have the opportunity to play in the TransIP Road of Legends.
- In Summer there will be a season finals. Qualifying for the Season Finals is based on points gathered throughout the year.
- Winter Season
In the Winter Season eight teams will play each other in a Swiss format, where teams with two wins will qualify for the playoffs. All matches in the Swiss stage will be in a best of three format: you have to win two games to win the match.
After the Swiss stage, four teams will advance to the playoffs stage and play each other in an elimination bracket. The two best performing teams in the Swiss stage will have an extra chance to get to the grand finals; they are allowed to lose once without being eliminated from the bracket. All matches in the playoffs stage will be best of five, meaning a team has to win three games to win the match.
The winner of the tournament will receive a trophy, prize money and the right to participate in EMEA Masters. After the Winter Season there will be no promotion or relegation.
- Spring Season
The Spring season will consist of a group stage and a playoffs stage. The group stage is a single round robin, which means that every team plays each other in a best of three match. The top five teams after the group stage will advance to the playoffs and enter a gauntlet, where the matches are played in a best of five format. The higher a team placed, the less matches they have to win to reach the finals.
In Spring, the top two placing teams will qualify for the EMEA Masters. Afterwards there will be a promotion tournament. The 7th placed team will play the 8th placed team. The winner is safe, while the loser of that match plays the winner of a qualification tournament. The winner of that match advances to Division 1 in Summer.
- Summer Season
The summer season has the same group stage format as Spring. However, it will not be the top five teams qualifying right away.
The teams will gather points throughout the different splits and the top five teams in points will qualify for the Season Finals, which replaces the Summer Season playoffs. The season finals will once again be a gauntlet style playoffs with best of five matches.
At the end of the Summer Season there will once again be a promotion tournament in the same way as Spring. The winner of the tournament qualifies for Winter Season 2026.
